Infrastructure and Network Security Engineer, New York, NY

Our client, a progressive insurance broker, is looking for a skilled and proactive Infrastructure and Network Security Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and security systems. In this role, you’ll collaborate across departments to ensure seamless system performance, secure architecture, and scalable operations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Azure, Fortinet, VMware, and Power Apps, and brings a solution-oriented mindset to technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize Azure Data Lake solutions to improve data storage efficiency and analytics performance.
  
• Design and develop Microsoft Power Apps to streamline and automate internal business processes.
  
• Implement and maintain robust network security architecture using Fortinet solutions.
  
• Administer and support VMware vCenter and Horizon environments to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
  
• Proactively identify infrastructure and network improvements in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
  
• Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (hardware, software, and networking).
  
• Conduct regular audits, apply system updates, and manage disaster recovery planning to safeguard data and infrastructure.
  
• Provide senior-level technical support for escalated issues and guide troubleshooting across teams.
  
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and propose strategic upgrades or enhancements.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Fortinet Security Solutions – Hands-on experience required; Fortinet certification preferred.
  
• Azure Data Lake – Solid experience with data ingestion, storage, and analytics capabilities.
  
• Power Apps – Ability to build and maintain apps that automate business processes.
  
• Azure Certifications – One or more of the following preferred: AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-305.
  
• VMware – Proficiency in managing virtual machines and desktops in vCenter and Horizon environments.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  
• Proven ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  
• Fortinet Certifications – NSE 4, NSE 5, or NSE 6.
  
• Microsoft Certifications – PL-200, PL-600 (Power Platform); AZ-305, AZ-500 (Azure architecture & security).
  
• Experience with Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, or other related Azure services.
  
• Experience with advanced VMware infrastructure and enterprise-level deployments.

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 plus bonus
