From cutting-edge analytics to next-gen system integrations, you'll contribute to projects that don’t just make headlines—they help shape real-world decisions on a national scale.

Here’s what your day-to-day might include:

As an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), you'll play a mission-critical role in securing complex systems that support national defense and intelligence operations. Your expertise will help shape secure architectures, drive risk mitigation strategies, and ensure that every component—from a single line of code to an enterprise-wide enclave—is protected against emerging threats.

Here’s what your day might look like:

  • Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with established IA standards and policies

  • Define, validate, and verify system security requirements and contribute to secure system architecture and design

  • Design, develop, integrate, and implement information assurance (IA) and cybersecurity solutions into networking, computing, and enclave environments

  • Support the secure integration of systems with multiple enclaves and varying classification levels

  • Assist developers and architects in selecting and implementing appropriate security functionality in alignment with enterprise policies and frameworks

  • Contribute to the development of secure architectures, ensuring trusted relationships between internal and external systems

  • Assess and mitigate system threats and risks across the full program lifecycle—from design through deployment

  • Lead and support activities in security planning, risk analysis, incident response, configuration control, and change management

  • Provide technical input and review of Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and audit documentation

  • Apply your knowledge in system integration, intrusion detection, access control, cryptography (COTS/GOTS), and IA principles such as confidentiality, integrity, availability, and non-repudiation

  • Support security authorization processes in accordance with RMF, NISCAP, DIACAP, and Customer standards

  • Act as a key security engineering representative on multidisciplinary teams, guiding secure design and implementation across IA architectures, systems, and components

  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, project leads, and technical teams to ensure secure, compliant solutions at every step

Whether you're designing solutions, identifying security gaps, or working alongside cross-functional teams, your contributions will be essential to ensuring mission readiness and data protection at the highest levels.

Qualifications:

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification is required

  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
