    Coordinator of Information Systems
     
    The position of a Coordinator of Information Systems is available immediately at East Central ISD for the 2024-2025 school year. All qualified District employees who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website.     POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE:  Coordinate the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.  Coordinates the use of student information software and gradebook.  

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    1. Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards.
    2. Coordinate the completion and accuracy of PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing
    3. Work cooperatively with campuses, business office, personnel office, and curriculum & instruction staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state and federal deadlines.
    4. Coordinate the department to run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
    5. Coordinate with the department to verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
    6. Provide training and support to campuses and to business, personnel, and curriculum & instruction office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
    7. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
    8. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
    9. Coordinates and manages activity associated with student attendance for the district to include online registrations as well as requests for permanent records.
    10. Collaborate with Region 13 on the Ascender (student and business) software to ensure a strong professional relationship and unity with the District. 
    11. Coordinates student scheduling and verifies PEIMS numbers for new courses.
    12. Serves as coordinator for TeacherPortal and ParentPortal and the use of Standards-Based Grading in TeacherPortal.
    13. Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer for PEIMS and attendance submission.  
    14. Leads district effort to respond to data submission audits and or audit inquired from TEA or related entities.
    15. Supervise the PEIMS Administrator, District Attendance/PEIMS Clerk, and Information Systems department part-time staff.
    16. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
    Education/Certification:
    Bachelor and master’s degree preferred

    EQUIPMENT:  Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS:  Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. May work prolonged or irregular hours of work. Prolonged sitting, frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.  Normal classroom/office environment.
     
    PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 226 days-basis                                   
    SALARY:  Administrative Pay Scale 104
